Kia ora koutou
We would like to send a birthday shout out to our beautiful Adison and Vavia’s mummy Hinemauria xx blessings from your Chrysalis whanau.
Today we kick started our week of ‘Waitangi’ a week in which we reflect upon how we as kaiako honour Te Tiriti O Waitangi and what this looks like in practice. Whaea Aspen has led our team on this learning journey and has planned some incredible authentic cultural experiences, you may notice kaiako using a bit more of te reo Maori, we have implemented a new waiata (Toia mai te waka nei), there is a visual Treaty display that dates back to the signing of the treaty, a tree planting ceremony followed by traditional dish of boil up and Whaea Aspens flat bread. We are blessed to be able to share in these experiences of the ‘heart’. Thank you Whaea Aspen for sharing your cultural funds of knowledge and supporting kaiako and tamariki to absorb, learn, grow and appreciate the history of Aotearoa.
Arohanui, nga kaiako o te ruma Raukatauri xoxo
