We acknowledge the dual heritage of Aotearoa and uphold the spirit and intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, fostering an environment where children experience values, traditions and the many languages that make up our bi-cultural and multi-cultural Centre.
Respect / Manaakitanga
We pride ourselves in building respectful and reciprocal relationships with children/tamariki, families/whanau, teachers/kaiako and the wider communities/hapori whanui.
We create a warm, inclusive, stimulating, and nurturing environment to support tamariki reach their full potential.
Family connection / Whanaungatanga
Our practices and environment compliment the home, giving tamariki, kaiako, whanau and the community a sense of belonging. We do this by valuing and celebrating diverse cultures, languages, and identities.
Guardianship / Kaitiakitanga
Our unique outdoor surroundings enable children to explore and discover their natural world (taiao). We foster their knowledge of how to care for it and to ensure it is sustainable.
Te Whariki underpins and guides our curriculum to create a learning environment where minds are engaged and inspired.
Children’s voices are listened to and child-initiated play and enquiry into the world around them is acknowledged and encouraged by Kaiako.
He taonga te mokopuna, kia whangia, kia tipu, kia rea.
A child is a treasure, to be nurtured, to grow, to flourish.Te Whariki (2017)
Each child has ownership of their own profile displayed in the child’s room, available for parents to view and contribute to. We like to encourage family involvement to ensure we have a collaborative approach with the whānau.
